To me, there is no better way to start the weekend than indulging in the scrumptious and artistic creations that Surry Hills has to offer. Orto Trading Co is another location that ticks all the boxes in Sydney’s famous brunch district. In terms of décor, Orto has a garden like design with a lot of natural light and outdoor seating. The spacious interior is decorated with wooden furnishing and beautiful fresh florals,  making it the perfect place to unwind, catch up with friends or even go on a romantic date.

The menu offers a range of classics as well as unique dishes including Scotch egg, Carrot cake hotcakes and bacon & egg roll. Orto also caters to our vegan and gluten free friends.  I recommend the Southern fried chicken  benni- Orto’s English muffin topped with fried chicken, a poached egg and adorned in homemade hollandaise sauce. If the description itself doesn’t get your mouth watering I don’t know what will. This unique brunch dish has a perfect mix of crunch from the fired chicken, oozing egg yolk and creaminess from the sauce. It’s a must try. Portion size was also reasonable.

I will surely be giving this gem a revisit in the near-future.
