Have you ever imagined cute rabbits, baby goats and calves joining our university life? Well, The Hub brought all these great animals for everyone to cuddle with on Tuesday, August 19th.
This Petting Zoo event held by The Hub primarily aimed to promote student engagement and bring some fun into campus. Meanwhile, they were also fundraising for the charity ‘Chris Father Riley’s Youth Off the Streets (YOTS)’ to help the disadvantaged, homeless and drug dependent youth overcome the difficulties in their lives.
Although the terrible weather had brought great difficulties when setting up, The Hub came up with various solutions to get everything on the way. The lovely pig, baby goats and rabbits captured the attention of students and staff passing by. Almost everyone would stop and have a look at what was going on there. It was amazing to see that so many people showed their love and care for these animals! Every participant was encouraged to feed and hold baby lambs, goats and rabbits in their arms.
Kindifarm provided the animals from Newcastle to support this event. James, the coordinator, guided students to feed and hold lambs properly, and took photos for everyone. What a warm-hearted guy!
The Petting Zoo is the first event animals were invited to visit our wonderful campus.
